Our Problem

Lead exposure is still a serious problem in New Jersey, and it hits low-income communities the hardest. Many families live in homes with old paint, contaminated dust, or pipes that can let lead into their drinking water. There is no safe amount of lead for children, and even small amounts can affect how they learn, think, and behave. This can lead to lower test scores, trouble focusing in school, and long-term health and emotional challenges. Because this damage can’t be undone, we are focused on preventing lead exposure from the start and fighting for safe homes and clean water for every child.

Our Plan

Our plan starts with raising awareness about lead dangers through school talks, community workshops, and social media campaigns that reach families in Trenton. We’re pushing for stronger local laws by meeting with lawmakers, sharing data on lead exposure, and rallying youth voices to demand testing and greater transparency. We’ll also partner with local groups to offer free home testing and other resources, making it easier for families to protect their kids. Our youth council members will lead hands-on projects like community testing and policy petitions to build momentum. Together, we’re building a lead-free future, one step, one voice, and one community at a time.
